How to Enjoy Dating a Sports Fan

Sports Gifts
From the time I was able to enjoy riding a bike I participated in all kinds of sports growing up. I loved anything that had to do with running like tracking and field, high jump as well as long distance running. In high school I was one of three girls on our co-ed soccer team, participated in drill team, dance team, ballet, tap, gymnastics, cheerleading and jazz classes.

You would think with all that activity most of my life I would have an affinity for at least one sport, not so. I have never been able to get into all the fandom brought on as the sporting seasons change and merge. In the back of my mind all I kept saying is what the big deal is, they’re just sporting events on TV.

All my thinking changed quite a few years back while I was dating a guy who was really into soccer and football. I tell ya at first it seems every time I turned around there was a soccer game or football game that held up our time together or interfered with us going out. For a long while I really thought his love of football and soccer was going to ruin our relationship (he was a cheater, so that was another life lesson learned, .)

While we were dating I did figure out a way to make all the soccer and football games/events/shows more fun for me. How did I do this? Well I already knew the rules of soccer as I played the game when I was younger and it only took a little effort to learn all the basic ins and outs of football. After brushing up on both sports I put my devilish plan into play!

Whenever there was a big game his team was playing in, I found out a little about the rival team. I’d attend our barbeques in the rival team colors and I’d bet against him and his team for fun and sexy little favors I wanted done, . This thinking rubbed off on some of the other non-sports fan girl and guy friends we associated with and became a great way to keep both the non-sports fans and the sports fanatics having a great time. Both sides can make attending events, tailgate parties and football Sunday as fun and crazy as you want.

To your sports season sanity

Hooray for Arm & Hammer unscented deodorant

This post although embarrassing is one I wanted to share.

I'm a sweater, not a fountain of sweat like the guy on the commercial but I do sweat more now than I ever did when I was younger and worked out.  I love shower gels and I tell ya there is nothing more frustrating than finding a wonderful shower gel only to have it over powered or mingled in with your scented deodorant.  Clinical strength deodorants with a scent make no sense to me, if I need clinical strength to keep me dry then the last thing I want is my sweat mingled with the scent from the deodorant, lol.

I want my antiperspirant/deodorant to be quiet about doing its job (unscented),  I don't want it to co-mingle with the body gel I just showered in or the perfume I decided to wear today.

For years I've lived frustrated because my scented clinical strength deodorant seemed to make me smell as if I had not bathed in a few days, eww, even if I had just stepped out of the shower a few hours ago. I tried multiple brands and had the same results with all, a smell orgy.

Recently it dawned on me I needed to have protection with baking soda in it to stay drier. Deodorant hunting I went a week ago and found Arm and Hammer UNSCENTED, hurray! I'm not afraid to sit between two people any more, I can wear a dab of my wonderful perfumes again or slather on the shower gel while in the shower with out fear of a stifling smell orgy when I am out in public.

Wow - Vickie Walker from the Circle the Wagons foundation

Imagine loosing a loved one to a violent crime and not being prepared for the onslaught of things you have to take care of to bury your loved one, to take care of your family, to begin to heal. There is now a place to find these resources in one location.

Through the tragedy suffered by Vickie Walker and her family on February 12, 2007 a wonderful resource was born a non-profit organization called Circle the Wagons, which helps put victims in contact with local resources from help with healing, funeral cost and more.

Vickie Walker was our guest speaker during the August Jordan Area Women in Business lunch. Her story of how she brought joy back to her life after such horrible tragedy left many of us teary eyed during lunch today.

To see her August 18th, 2010 interview on Fox 13 news click here

The Circle the Wagons foundation is currently a local Utah resource, however they are working to make it a national foundation as it can be surely used in other places were victims need support.

Please visit Circle the Wagons.org for more information or how to support their organization.

I am told that $20.00 will purchase three Cans of Comfort gifts, please spread the word about Circle the Wagons

Dolls Like Me - Way cool

I found this site while surfing on a e-list I belong to. Way cool, I like that they offer toys in more than just two cultures. My son is too old for toys but I'll be sure to hang on to this for my future grand kids, lol.
